You will need:
125g margarine
75g caster sugar
1 egg, separated
75g plain flour
25g cornflour

0.5 teaspoon ground ginger
75g wholemeal flour
1 tablespoon milk
50g currants
25g mixed peel

What to do
1. Cream the margarine and sugar until light and fluffy.
2. Beat in the egg yolk.
3. Sift the flour, cornflour and Spices together.
Work this into the creamed mixture.
4. Add the wholemeal flour.
5. Add the milk to make a dough.
6. Mix in the currants and mixed peel.
7. Roll out the dough (5mm) and cut into round shapes.

Imogen worked out the cost of making 30 biscuits and Jemima 40 biscuits.
When Imogen did the calculations, she needed 1.5 eggs, which lead on to us discussing whether to round up or down. And then later, we cracked an egg and got...

a double yolk, Is this 1.5 eggs!

After the girls had worked out the costings of the biscuits, we talked about arranging the biscuits on the baking tray, and in the process covered multiplication and factors.

The girls didn't want to make the biscuits, and made a carrot cake.
Thanks to our hens laying double yolkers, it was slightly eggy!
